Lonely

Is Reason so cold,
I could bear the warmth of irrationality?

They find alcoholic hikers naked
in most hypothermia cases

I may be above ambient intelligence
but I don’t believe anyone is above reason

Some stay below, where it is hot as hell
Nothing makes sense and the world is against them

The universe is my sanctuary
I came here because two lovers embraced
but I stay because this life is my own

My own life. Am I lonely?

I seek philosophers like campfires
I am not alone. When I find eyes like mine
We shine. We create friction just to warm our bones

We question, we contest, we speak with the confidence
of minds that have wondered a million times

Would I give this solitude for the glow of delusional bliss
blind reverence for the mediocre, faith in pretty words?

No
